Chettinad appam recipe is very popular the taste of the recipe is very unique.  The two verities prepared here are chettinad sweet appam recipe and chettinad kara appam recipe. The commonly prepared sweet recipe is chettinad vellai appam recipe. Here I have given the easy preparation of appam recipe in chettinad style.

Ingredients for Chettinad appam Recipe
Raw rice – 2 cups
urad dal – ½ cup
Coconut – 1
Baking soda a pinch
Salt and oil as per your taste

How to prepare Chettinad appam recipe

  1. Soak urad dal and rice for about three to four hours,
  2. Then Grind it like your dosa flour consistency,
  3. Grind the coconut and extract the milk, keep it aside,
  4. Add half of the coconut milk, baking soda  and salt with the ground flour,
  5. Take a pan add two cups of oil when oil heats pour half cup of the flour ,
  6. Let it to cook then turn the upside down and remove it from the oil after cooked well.
  7. Easy chettinad vellai appam recipe is ready to taste,
  8. The best side dish for chettinad appam recipe sweet is coconut milk with cardamom,
  9. You can also taste with coconut chutney and tomato chutney.
